WIP
Boy, all I've been doing this summer is studying. They make for boring posts and boring work. I need to take a break from that and really remember how much I love drawing. So I'll be posting some more work soon! (real work)

still alive

Sorry I've neglected you blog. I've been drawing in my sketchbooks mostly this summer (so far) and I had troubles with my laptops. Nothing exciting to post just thought I should post, to get that habit going again. BOO YA! Big ups to Alex Woo and Louie Gonzales for being great teachers, and really providing me with what I felt was a push in the right direction. They gave me back my sense of volition and purpose in art, that was drowned away by school. Their gesture drawing workshop was fantastic. and if/when I have the money I will for sure take their schoolism class.

something i read from an interview with a 4th year cal arts student I liked:
"I was encouraged at some point or another to draw in ink so I couldn’t fiddle around with details. It’s not for everybody, but it’s certainly helped me. That really forces me to make strong choices early on.
A former instructor once gave some advice on intuition. She explained that your gut instinct is usually right, and it’s not your ideas that lack worth. The whole journey of the artist might simply be the search for the tools you need to express your ideas more clearly. Thus, every artist has a different journey, because we all need different tools. In the end, trust in your ideas."
